Leading continental upstream oil industry investor and chairman of Oranto-Atlas Oil Group with investments spanning South Sudan, Gabon, Angola, Niger Rep., Zambia and here in Nigeria, Prince Author Eze, has given exclusive insight on how he was made a billionaire by Northern Nigeria.

Speaking to Business Hilights South East Bureau Chief and other journalists in his home, Ukpo, Anambra State, on Sunday, during a church service, he revealed that “I went to the North, they didn’t know who I was. They gave me $12m for the construction of Kano TV in 1980. I didn’t have one naira then. It was the same thing in Katsina, Borno and Kaduna. Then, they put me in oil business. They didn’t care where I came from.”

Fact checks on Oranto-Atlas interests show near coverage of every oil producing African economy, even in the youngest economy of South Sudan where he recently boosted education activities as part of his corporate social responsibilities in the North African nation.
