A new report released Monday by Business Hilights Intelligence Unit (BHIU) in Lagos has disclosed business sectors that may be shocked over the ongoing evacuation of both European and United States citizens over diplomatic fears on how the Federal Government had been handling the pandemic.
However, their fears are coming at a time the WHO had given a strong part on the back of the government for doing excellent job after all.
BHIU report showed that “Due to the over-bearing influence and industry control of digital sector by the Asians globally, the EU and US experts are no more influential in the industry as to create any form of shocks on their exit from Nigeria due to COVID-q9 fears.”
“Checks show that Asians citizens are more in telecoms in Nigerian and therefore the sector may not be disturbed just like Dangote Industries which have more of Asians working for in several departments.
“However, oil multinationals, Four and Five Star hotels and other firms with high number of EU and US citizens may have to absorb the shocks associated with their evacuation.
Business Hilights recalls that German airline, Lufthansa and Air France, on Thursday, evacuated about 637 Europeans from Nigeria.
While 238 Germans were evacuated by Lufthansa, Air France evacuated 399 French and Dutch citizens; 142 were earlier picked from Cotonou, the Benin Republic and 257 others joined the flight at the MMIA.
The Air France flight was one of the three expected to evacuate Dutch and French nationals from Nigeria.
The first flight was operated on March 26 while the next evacuation is expected to take place on April 9.
