Finally, its end of road for former Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha as the Supreme Court Tuesday evening reconfirmed its judgment delivered on January 14, 2020 that Senator Hope Uzodinma remains the substantive governor of Imo State on a ratio of six to one Supreme Court justices.
The majority judgment also made it clear that the Supreme Court does not have the powers to either review or set aside its judgment so delivered hence the lead application for retrial was dismissed.
Accordingly, the majority ruling delivered by Justice Olukayode Ariwoola dismissed the appeal, saying the apex court of the land lacks the competence to review itself, hence there is no need of looking back at the matter so determined.
However, Justice Chima Nweze ruled that Supreme Court can reverse itself if such judgement failed to meet justice of the case in question.
