Market research recently concluded across select tertiary institutions in Nigeria and some commercial hubs by Business Hilights Intelligence Unit (BHIU), an independent business research arm of Media Hilights Integrated Company Limited, publishers of Business Hilights online and Markets Business Hilights Newspapers, have shown that subscribers of Globacom data services are happier than others.

The survey carried out in the months of December 2019 and January 2020 using one university and one commercial hub in each geopolitical region, revealed that amongst subscribers of data services across all four leading service providers, Glo data subscribers expressed most happiness on the network’s 4G quality of service and data affordability in Nigeria.

Key reasons given by respondents during the survey period include affordability, accessibility, steadiness of data services, none suspicious disappearance of loaded bundles over a short period, less hanging of service and wide range of data bundles that can match every pocket in need of data.

Releasing the report on Wednesday in Lagos, chief executive of Media Hilights Integrated Group, Prince Stan Okenwa said “We decided to carry out the research without involving or interviewing any network during the period to get the best result. We went straight to students and business operators at the select campuses and using open-ended questionaire model, we secured genuine facts on the real performances of data networks in Nigeria and impacts of their 4G revolution.

Giving further insights on why the research was carried out, Prince Okenwa noted that “BHIU had over the years, monitored the monthly release of industry statistics by the regulator, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and observed that there had been no straight two or three months where a particular network maintained lead in data market segment in the last three years.

“Therefore, we felt that in finding out, it is important to get the views of subscribers’ who are actually determining how networks performs on a monthly basis because higher loyalty to a network is a function of variables which usually boil down to QoS and affordability.

On the data service performance of other networks, BHIU Report said “The essence of the survey is only to identify the most popular in terms of service and affordability only.”
