Gov. Ikpeazu to step up partnership with NLC in Abia—Agbazuere
The Chief of Staff to the Abia State Governor, Dr A.C.B Agbazuere, has restated the resolve of the state government to deepen existing partnership with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in promoting, defending and advancing the economic, political and social rights and wellbeing of Abia workers and pensioners across the state.
Dr Agbazuere who stated this when he received in audience the executives of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Abia State council, led by their state chairman, Comrade Uchenna Obigwe who paid him a courtesy visit in his office maintained that the challenges of Abia workforce will be adequately addressed.
The Chief of staff to the Governor harped on the need for periodic workshops to enable them brainstorm and liaise with the state government on issues bothering public servants in the state with a view to proffering lasting solution to them adding that the present administration will continue to support the Union in the sensitization of public servants to enable them thrive well.
He called on public servants across the state to channel their grievances and challenges to the government through the state NLC chairman for appropriate action, reiterating that the state government will not tolerate any form of protest capable of breaching the existing peace and cordial relationship between the state labour force and the state government.
According to the Chief of staff, the present administration under Governor Okezie Ikpeazu will give the state NLC the necessary assistance to enable them complete their permanent Secretariat and also appreciated them for coming to identify with him.
Earlier in his address, the state NLC chairman, Comrade Uchenna Obigwe commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for appointing a tested and attested, versatile, exposed and experienced administrator, Dr A.C.B Agbazuere as his Chief of staff who is adequately equipped to help the administrative strides of the governor.
Comrade Obigwe while congratulating Dr Agbazuere on his appointment, expressed satisfaction that his appointment will give hope and future to Abians and the workforce in general and also assured him of their unalloyed support and solidarity.
The visit which featured special prayer for the chief of staff, attracted the presence of top government functionaries among others.
