The overbearing influence so far generated by the sharing of soft interest-free loans to Nigerians in the grassroots under the National Social Intervention Programme (NSIP) ahead of 2019 elections may have forced the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, to call on party stalwarts hiding in Abuja go to the grassroots and mobilize for the party’s victory in the general elections.
It would be recalled that in the last couple of months, the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, whose office is in charge of disbursement of TraderMoni interest free loans to market men and women is set to cover the entire 36 states and the FCT.

Analysts and statistics show that the shocking impacts of the traderMoni disbursement on a state-by-state basis is capable of swinging unprecedented volume of votes for the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) during the 2019 election, especially the presidential election which is coming first.

This is based on the fact that the main voting population in Nigeria are mainly youths and market women.
Though the way and manner the scheme is structure, it has no political colouration, but political watchers say the state-by-state disbursement of the TraderMoni at a time general election is very close will affect the voting mentality of lower income earners who largely decide presidential election results considering their population and resilience to vote whether rain or sun.
Secondus gave the advice at the National Executive Committee meeting of the party held at the party’s National Secretariat on Thursday in Abuja.
He said that it was not time to stay back in Abuja and expect things to workout.
“This is the time we must be ready to go down to the grassroots, to do away with the style of gathering in Abuja, because I believe that the campaign structure will be a smart and very effective one.
“The matter is not in Abuja. It is directly at the grassroots. I believe that after this meeting, some people will have to relocate to their homes.
“We are aware of what happened in 2015, where we gathered at Legacy House in Abuja for everyday meeting but there was no result. We reject that. It will never happen again,” PDP National Chairman averred.
