FG to inaugurate e-Government services firm to boost OGP
All is set for the Federal Government to establish an e-government services company that will grow the current administration’s quest to engender Open Government Partnership in Nigeria (OGP).
Minister of Communications, Dr. Adebayo Shittu stated this during a meeting of National Steering Committee on OGP in Nigeria, held at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja recently.
Shittu explained that the e-government services company will enable the Nigerian masses to access government information with ease as well as bring the government closer to the people.
According to him, “I am happy to inform you that in a month or two, the Ministry of Communications through Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) is going to establish a reliable e-government services company which will enable the ordinary masses of Nigeria to reach the government and access all the government available information”.
The Minister averred that his Ministry initiated an e-government master plan as a policy which had been approved by the Federal Executive Council and the ministry would work hard to domesticate it and make it work for the betterment of Nigeria and her citizenry.
