C’Wealth Spectrum Management Forum to review members progress, challenges

The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) has disclosed that the upcoming Commonwealth Spectrum Management Forum 2018 which will take place at the InterContinenal Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort, Mauritius, on 4 – 6 September 2018, will among other things review developments with spectrum technologies, standards, services, applications and platforms.

Coming with the theme; ‘Resolving access accessibility and affordability – the dynamic spectrum challenge,’ the summit will be hosted by the Ministry of Technology Communication and Innovation and the Information and Communication Technologies Authority of Mauritius.

The event will focus on facilitating a more efficient use of the radio spectrum frequency in order to assist national economic development efforts.

CTO noted in a statement sent to Business Hilights from London that “The advance of the Internet of Things, alongside ever increasing opportunities for mobile data communications will result in increasing demand for spectrum, and the Commonwealth Spectrum Management Forum will examine the challenges involved in managing this demand”.

“The event will bring together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders and civil society from the Pacific to examine the particular challenges facing broadband in the region, and discuss solutions with peers from the international community. Registration is now open!
