Opinion polls across voting population in Nigeria have shown strong interest in restructuring as a key factor that will decide presidential elections come next year.

It would be recalled that since the emergence of the current administration, there has been a rising voice on the side of electorates for the government to restructure the management system of the country to drive equity, end marginalization and spark off effective exploration and management of natural resources.

Already, among all declared presidential aspirants, the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, had been a key campaigner and believer in restructuring.

Atiku, who was in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital recently, joined the state governor, Seriake Dickson to explain the importance of restructuring.

While seeking the support of the governor and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state for his presidential ambition, he explained that he had followed the advocacy effort of Dickson on the issue of restructuring, saying that he himself had been advocating the same issue since 2004.

According to him, “I have followed with keen interest your advocacy on restructuring and I want to let you know that I have been an advocate of restructuring since 2004. I want to invite you to join me to work together with me ahead of 2019 so that we can do it together. “

To further deepen his support in the restructuring drive, Atiku presented a book written by him on the need for proper restructuring to Dickson.

Addressing a large crowd of PDP supporters, the former Vice president urged them to stand up for the fight ahead, saying that he was ready to face persecution and confront anti-democratic forces in his quest to salvage the country.

He assured that “I am ready to fight anti-democratic forces. If you remember, I can fight or face anyone. I was in the vanguard of fighting the military. Though many lives were lost, we were successful. I am ready to ‘change the change’.

Atiku had arrived the state capital in company with a former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel who is currently serving as his campaign DG.
