The Chairman of the Transcorp Group, Tony Elumelu has revealed at an interactive session hosted by the Lagos state government with the business community that “We are planning to build a 25-storey hotel in Lagos…”.
Speaking during the ‘Lagos Means Business’ forum organised by the Lagos State Government, Elumelu averred that “we will see the governor and discuss with him on how we can get their support”.
According to him, “We want to do this project to further create jobs for the people of Lagos state,” stressing that “Lagos is Nigeria’s commercial capital and West Africa’s largest economy with over 25 million people living in the city and its suburbs”.
Business Hilights gathered that the hotel is to be situated at Glover Road, Ikoyi, a highbrow business district on the Lagos Island.
Tourism and hospitability industry experts said on delivery of the five star hotel, more jobs will be created to tame youths restiveness and urban organized crimes in Lagos.
