More delivery specifications on the upcoming Oshodi Interchange have merged.

The new development by the Lagos State Government is inspired by new idea on how best to manage the ever increasing volume of both vehicular and human traffic traversing the axis on a daily basis.

Oshodi, arguably, is the busiest transport hub in Nigeria with over 5,600 buses loading per day and spread over 13 different motor parks, as well as over 200,000 passengers boarding per day and about 1million pedestrians moving daily in the area, with about 76 per cent of the entire area dedicated to transport and related activities.

Business Hilights gathered from one of the site engineers at the site on Tuesday that the Oshodi interchange has 3-multi-storey bus terminals.

The facility is further patterned after Victoria terminus, London with waiting area, loading bays, ticketing stands, drivers lounge, parking areas, conveniences, surveillance tower and CCTV gadgets, all of which were being done by over 500 workers on site.

The interchange will be merged with the new Airport highway. Currently massive road works are ongoing to beat deadline.

The state government had secured approval from the federal government around August last year.
