Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has given fresh insights on why Setraco is now the preferred contractor handling the completion of Asaba International Airport, saying the facility will be functional in June this year.
In an interview, he revealed that “The Company has a mandate of four months to deliver the project. The amount that Setraco quoted to deliver the job was lesser than the amount the contract was awarded to the former contractor.”
“I want to tell you that the contract for the construction of the Asaba Airport project has been awarded to Setraco. Setraco is a reputable company and in the last one week a lot of construction work has been witnessed at the airport.
Continuing, Governor Okowa averred that Setraco has a mandate of four months to deliver the project, noting that “The amount that Setraco quoted to deliver the job was lesser than the amount the contract was awarded to the former contractor.”
Business Hilights recalls that the airport had been having completion issues with the former contractor (name with held) over differences on delivery specifications and cost before the management committee of the airport advised the state government for change of contractor leading to the selection of Setraco.
