Arrangements that will see prospective subscribers across the nation access the new pay-TV, Telecom Satellite television (TStv) services have been put in place and are currently running.

Checks by Business Hilights on the official website of the company showed that currently, every state of the federation and Federal Capital territory (FCT), Abuja now has reasonable number of accredited dealers.

Statistics computed from the site showed that whereas Lagos State is leading with the number of dealers at 59, FCT has 33 as Kano follows with a distant seven accredited dealers.

A random check revealed that so many states have less than 10 dealers which analysts say may cause concentration of services only in select parts of each state which may not mean well for the new entrant.

Other states include Abia with seven, Rivers 3, Enugu 3, Imo 1, Bayelsa 3, Bauchi 1, Akwa Ibom 3 and Anambra 4.

Further review of site presentations show that TStv services is coming with about 65 stations packaged groups of channels including one free channel, five channels on language/culture/Pan African, six general entertainment channels, nine movie channels, seven kids channels, five documentary channels and three music channels.

Others are eight news channels, 15 sports channels and six religious channels.

Already, the President of National Association of Telecommunications Subscribers (NATCOMS), Chief Deolu Ogunbanjo has noted that Nigerians are eagerly waiting to subscribe to the services of the new pay-TV.

Ogunbanjo said though the arrival of TStv into the pay-tv arena was a good development for Nigerians, he charged the company to begin awareness promotion which will inform prospective subscribers where its dealers are located, saying Nigerians need to see their promotions here and there to grow awareness.

Business Hilights recalls that TStv is coming with three unique features which include pay-as-you-watch, Wi-Fi and video conferencing and the decoder or Set Top Box (STB)) and dish go for N5, 000.
