Barely three days after the National Council on Privatisation (NCP), chaired by the Vice president, Yemi Osinbajo announced moves to privatise the five lines at Afam Power plant to boost investments and power supply, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, has received report that Afam 132kv line 2 belonging to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), had one of the lines cut between Afam and Port Harcourt route.
The indication according to the company is that the entire Port Harcourt metropolis has been thrown into darkness. However, the TCN engineers are already aware of the line cutting and they promised moving to the site with a view to amending it starting from tomorrow morning.
However, the observed delay in mobilizing to the site immediately is due to the fact that it is raining now.
PHED therefore assured of early restoration based on the promise and commitment from the TCN.
