Leading smartphone manufacturer and distributors, Tecno weekend launched two classy smartphones, Tecno Spark and Tecno Spark Plus, all designed to raise the digital experience of youths, social media enthusiasts and other segments of the society in love with choice devices.

The launch which was executed in a party format, drew students and youths to the “the biggest student rave ever” from five major colleges in Lagos including UNILAG, YABATECH, LASU, LASPOTECH and FCET at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos.

This is coming barely a month after launching the WX series of smartphones into the Nigerian market.

Both new machines, as fondly referred to by early users are 2G / 3G / 4G complaint and came with a displaying screen of 5.5 inches for Spark and 6.0 for Spark Plus, IPS LCD Touch-screen display — (720 x 1280 px).

Other delivery specifications include Software: Android v7.0 (Nougat), Processor: 1.3 GHz Octa-core CPU for Spark and 1.5 for Spark plus, Memory: 1GB/2GB RAM / 16GB ROM, Cameras: Front — 5 MP (with flash) / Rear — 13 MP (autofocus, LED flash), Battery: 3000 mAh and Fingerprint sensor which can also be used to snap selfie by users.

Besides, the Tecno Spark (also known as Tecno K7) is a 5.5-inch display device in a metal unibody which, thanks to its Antenna band placement, looks a lot like the iPhone 7; at least, viewing the device from the back.

Looking aside, the device which ships with the latest Android version (Nougat) features a 1.3GHz Octa-core MediaTek CPU and about 2GB of RAM for multitasking.

For storing files and multimedia, the Tecno Spark has just 16GB of onboard storage which can be extended by a microSD card (up to 32GB).

The cameras on the device are also modest. With the front facing shooter having around 5 million pixels accompanied by its dedicated flash light for low light conditions, taking selfies should be effortless. The rear camera is a 13MP shooter also accompanied by a LED flash.

Featuring a much larger screen size and battery capacity than the Spark (above), the Tecno Spark Plus has a 6-inch display and a 3400 mAh battery.

In addition to those two, another major difference is the device’s antenna band placement.

Tecno Spark plus K9 is a budget smartphone that is billed to be announced by Tecno Mobile. It is the Plus variant of the Tecno Spark K7 smartphone. Compared to the Tecno Spark, the Spark Plus K9 comes with huge 6.0-inch screen size and a resolution of 1280*720 Pixel. One of the key highlights of the Spark Plus K9 is the lovely design that will get attention due to its near bezeless 2.5D display.

During the launch, officials of the company said the retail price will shock buyers as being the most pocket friendly.

Business Hilights recalls that Tecno Mobile is a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer.

The company began operations in July 2006 in Hong Kong. With its first research and development centre in Shanghai, China, Tecno Mobile was founded as Tecno Telecom Limited, but later changed its name to Transsion Holdings with Tecno Mobile serving as one of its subsidiaries. Tecno focused its business on Africa and the South Asian market. However, following market research conducted in Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America, the company found that Africa was the most lucrative region. As a result of this, in 2008, it stopped doing business in Asia to exclusively focus on Africa.
