Known for its curious takes on contemporary societal issues, ‘trial marriage’, a strange but growing habit among students of higher learning in the country will come under scrutiny in today’s edition of hilarious TV drama, Professor Johnbull.

Leading national carrier, Globacom which has been sponsoring the programme, said in a statement that the new episode, entitled Campus Marriage, would be shown at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes. The repeat broadcast of the show comes up on the same stations at 8.30 p.m. on Friday.

“The issue of ‘trial marriage’ is common among undergraduates, especially those in institutions where there are no established official accommodation or hostel facilities. While in some instances, the campus couples do have the chance of living together as husbands and wives after graduation, the majority have tales of woe as the relationships hit the rocks leading to avoidable heartaches. Campus Marriage, therefore, highlights the dangers of ‘trial marriage’ and the lessons therein are not only for the young ones in schools, but also for parents and guardians”, Globacom explained.

Globacom urged viewers to watch the interesting drama, adding that, “in line with the tradition of Professor Johnbull to highlight moral decadence in society, the new episode airing this week touches on this behavioural tendency that has eaten deep into the fabrics of social and family values. Viewers will certainly have value for their time as they watch Campus Marriage”.

The regular characters in the series all feature in Campus Marriage. They include Kanayo O. Kanayo, the main act, Olaniyi (Yomi Fash-Lanso), Etuk (Imeh Bishop), Ufoma (Bimbo Akintola), Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko), Flash (Stephen Odimgbe), and Churchill (Jnr. Pope Odonwodo).

The company added that viewers will have the opportunity of learning what ‘trial marriage’ is and if Jumoke has changed from being a fake lady. They will also find out who falls victim of campus marriage and whether trail marriage is real or mere fantasy?
