NPA welcomes as great news, staff nomination for awards by IAPH Azerbaijan
The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman has considered the recent notification for nomination for international honours, one of her managers, and AGM/Head of the Occupational Health unit, Mrs. Ngozi Obikili by the prestigious International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH) women forum.
The award is coming with a scholarship at the forthcoming conference which comes up between the 8th and 11thMay, 2018 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The award would facilitate the laurel winner to attend the forum and present an official paper to the Association.
In the statement announcing the award to NPA, which was made available to Business Hilights, Chairperson of the conference, Siti Noraishah Azizan, stated that several persons from various Organizations had contested keenly for the coveted recognition and honour.
Responding, NPA boss, Bala Usman said “this is great news and am very excited”. She then stated that the NPA would continue to prioritize concerns on capacity building and the enthronement of efficiency in the workforce.
She also added, that the level of professionalism in the Organization is high, stressing that these forum is part of the basic avenue that would be utilized in turning the NPA into a role model.
She said that everyone in the Organization has a role to play in promoting best practices and diligent quality services. “Anything less than these world class services are simply not acceptable” “we on our part shall provide the leadership to attain best practices status”, she added.
