The Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Seriake Dickson, has bought into the Federal Government’s new decision to set up modular refineries in the Niger Delta, saying the deal will return calm to the region by creating multiple jobs for the boys.
Though he was silent on the associated environmental pollution and related decimation of green lives, the Governor noted that his administration would establish three modular refineries in each of the three senatorial zones in the state.
In a statement made available by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson to Business Hilights, Dickson made the commendation on sidelines of the ongoing Oil and Gas Trade Conference in Houston, Texas, United States of America.
The Bayelsa State governor was at the ongoing summit with Senator Foster Ogola, Fred Agbedi who is Chairman House Committee on Gas, Henry Ofongu, Secretary to the State Government, Serena Dokubo-Spiff, Commissioner for Investment, Trade, Commerce and Industries, Kemela Okara, Chief Economic Adviser, Duate Iyabe, Special Adviser on Investment, Cyril Akika and other top aides.
Giving additional insights on the modular refinery, he said his government is set to set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) in the name of a company to be known as Bayelsa Petrochemical and Refinery Company Limited.
He said the emerging company will be ready to collaborate with interested investors to ensure that the refineries were established and managed with the latest technology for the interest of the state and Nigeria in general.
