Diversification drive is gradually peaking up in states with business intelligence across Nigeria as existing jobs continue to dry up due to recession and inflationary trend.

Plans are nearing completion for the establishment world class car manufacturing and assembly plant by leading indigenous group, Innoson Motors in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.

Driving the dream is the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh who recently led the Chairman of Innoson Group of Companies, Chief Innocent Chukwuma to meet some officials to Akwa Ibom State at Uyo for discussion.

Already, the State Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Udom has jump started the deal by announcing the allocation of 10 Hecters of land to support the project with directive to the State Commissioner of Lands, Arch Imeh Ekpo, to prepare the C of O.

Udom instantly assured to ink the C of O not later than tomorrow, Friday as soon as its ready and brought to his office.

Though Mr. Chukwuma was silent on how much he is investing in the deal, experts say such investment may not be less than N5bn.

Experts also said if such amount is injected by a private sector investor to a state like Akwa Ibom, the multiplier effect will be enormous in the entire region in terms of job creation and technology advancement of the country.

In his remarks, General Boroh, thanked the governor for his support and encouraged the Innoson team to keep believing in the prospects of the Niger Delta Region and the economy in general.

Early speculations on the volume of jobs to be created on delivery say over 1500 youths will be engaged, which will include beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

Boroh also used the occasion to enjoin other indigenous players to be begin to think expanding their businesses away from their parent base to parts of the country, saying the idea will grow national integration and even development.
