As part of renewed efforts by the Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano to diversify the state’s economy using agriculture, his administration has perfected plans with the United States of America (USA) to export one million tubers of popular yam brand, ‘Ado Onitsha’ as well as other vegetables to the United Kingdom.

While noting that the state had completed the training of some personnel that would handle the export processes, he averred that the deal will grow job opportunities in the state for youths.

The Governor made the disclosure at S.S John and Paul Parish (Iba Pope), Awada, Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state during a mass to commemorate the visit of St John Paul II to the parish 35 years ago and 10 years of its dedication.

He said in the last three years, his administration had invested heavily in agriculture to give the state economic respite, adding that the state would soon produce 550,000 eggs per day to meet the needs of the people.
