FG, CBN working on putting forex interbank rate at par with parallel market—VP

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has revealed that government is not losing hope on chances of putting forex interbank rate at par with parallel market rate which had been on a surging spree.

Reviewing the situation at Davos World Economic Forum Thursday, Osinbajo argued that “The gap between the official and parallel markets it isn’t helpful,” noting that “If you look at economic recovery and growth plan, it is the expectation that this is a conversation we are having with central bank”.

The leader of Nigerian delegation also led a discussion on Business in Nigeria, where ministers from the Federal Cabinet who are members of the Nigerian delegation also featured.

Member of the delegation include ministers and special advisers including the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okey Enelamah, Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh and Minister for Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu. The Special Adviser on Economic Matters to the President, Dr. Adeyemi Dipeolu, is also on the delegation. The group is expected back today as WEF ends in Switzerland.
