Atlas VPN team found that one-fifth (19.8%) of employees fell for phishing emails even if they have gone through security awareness training. What is more, 67.5% of these employees also entered their credentials, such as passwords, on the phishing webpage.
The report shows that:
19.8% of employees clicked on phishing links after cybersecurity training.
67.5% of workers gave out their credentials on the phishing site.
The number of employees who clicked on a phishing link has increased by 77%, from 11.2% in 2019 to 19.8% in 2020.
In 2019, only 1.8% of employees gave out their credentials during the phishing simulation; in 2020, that number increased by a whopping 644% to 13.4%.
The public sector is most vulnerable to phishing attacks. A total of 28.4% of employees in the public sector clicked on a phishing link.
