Africa’s leading Smart Card manufacturing and personalization company, SecureID Nigeria Limited has commissioned its latest state-of-the-earth in Lagos, giving an indication to begin massive production for export to other African countries.

Before now, the company had been the major provider of digital chips and ATM smart cards for many commercial banks in Nigeria. It is also leading local manufacturer of Subscribers Identity Modules (SIM) cards for many GSM networks.

Expressing satisfaction during the commissioning of the new factory in Lagos, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah affirmed that the Federal Government will continue to support Nigeria’s first SIM cards manufacturing processing company, SecuresID Limited in its bid to export over 200 million SIM cards yearly to 19 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

He said President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration was ready to assist any local manufacturing company willing to export locally manufactured products offshore in a bid to attract foreign exchange into the country.

The Minister noted that the company is a world-class SIM manufacturing firm that will help propagate the present administration’s diversification agenda programme about Nigeria’s quest to becoming an industralised country by the year 2020.

Enelamah noted that the company-SECUREID Limited is an example of three critical proponents the present administration has identified in its quest to make Nigeria become a technology driven nation- entrepreneurship, manufacturing and ICT.

He said “What I find very interesting is that the company we are celebrating is an interception of three things that are vital to us as a country and to this government in terms of our strategy- entrepreneurship, manufacturing, whole technology and telecoms space.

It’s not often you get a company that can somehow combined the sweet-side of the three components.

‘‘But it takes entrepreneur vision, drive and zeal to make it happen. As a country and a government, we must support more and more of our entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams and vision to realize and allow them reach their full potentials”.

“This plant is a world class technology based because of the sophisticated technology and equipment installed.

“So what I can assure you is that we will continue to support you to produce more and more often of SIM cards and to add values to employment generation and improved on the administration’s import substitution strategy,” the minister added.

Earlier in her welcome address, the managing director of the company, Ms. Kofo Akinkugbe said “SecureID provides superior and comprehensive end –to – end payment, identity management and digital security solutions employing senior level, highly experienced professional and relationship management teams”.

“We operate a world class production plant adopting world class standards and are fully PCIDSS certified. SecureID is an industry leading manufacturer of Smart cards and Personalization Company. We also provide customized smart card solutions along with finishing services,” elated Akinkugbe said.
