Fresh angle has emerged on analogies trailing why rodents were allowed to takeover President Muhammadu Buhari’s office and damage several furniture and electrical fittings during his 103 days medical vacation in London.

Whereas many Nigerians who were disturbed on the breaking news of the rodents bizarre attack on the number one office in Nigeria continued to finger poor maintenance roaster and culture, analysts have revealed that the official decision to allow rodents may not be unconnected with the fear of more excruciating lethal damages that would have been caused if ‘Hyenas and Jackals’ were given access in the first instance.

Nigerians could recall that the wife of the president, Mrs. Aisha Buhari had mid way into the long medical vacation of her husband opened up, tweeting that “God had answered the prayers of weaker animals (without knowing that rodents are inclusive); The Hyenas and the Jackals will soon be sent out of the kingdom. We strongly believe in the prayers and supports of weaker animals. Long live Nigeria!”

Now to the surprise everybody including both ‘strong and weaker animals in the kingdom’, it never occurred to anybody that rodents were already having full days right in the ‘Lion King’s office.

The wife of the President, Aisha Buhari and Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani in a couple of Facebook posts, spoke in parables concerning the activities of the presidency on President Buhari‘s 64th day on medical vacation in London.

The Aisha Buhari tweet that opened up the ‘The Lion King’ controversy

Sani had on July 6, written on Facebook:

Prayer for the absent Lion King has waned; until he’s back then they will fall over each other to be on the front row of the palace temple. Now the hyenas and the jackals are scheming and talking to each other in whispers; still doubting whether the Lion King will be back or not. Now the Lion king is asleep and no other dare to confirm if he will wake up or not. It’s the wish of the Hyenas that the Lion King never wakes or come back so that they can be kings. It’s the Prayers of the weaker animals that the Lion King comes back to save the Kingdom from the Hyenas, the wolves and other predators.

Aisha Buhari, quoting Sani’s post said:

God has answered the prayers of the weaker Animals, The Hyenas and the Jackals will soon be sent out of the kingdom. We strongly believe in the prayers and support of the weaker animals.

Long live the weaker animals, Long live Nigeria!

Again, Sani took to his Facebook to say:

The crocodiles want fishes to quit the rivers; the pythons want to monopolize the forest. The Leopards, Cheetahs, Pumas, Jaguars and the Cougars want the Kingdom rearranged. When the Lion is back the Kingdom will be back to order. However, the Tiger is doing its best to keep the Kingdom in the absence of the Lion. But the Lion is the Lion. I admire the courage, the strength, the tenacity, the resilience and the spirit of the Lioness.

Whereas these conversations were ongoing, rodents have been intensifying damages which has now caused President Buhari staying in his office and to work from home pending when renovation will be completed.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Shehu Garba, while speaking journalists on Tuesday, noted that the president’s office needed renovation because of its devastation by rodents during the president’s long period of absence.

He said “Following the three months period of disuse, rodents have caused a lot of damage to the furniture and the air conditioning units,” stressing that it was impossible for his boss to operate from the office in that condition.

Though Garba was confident that the development would not affect the effectiveness of Buhari’s work since his residence has an annex to the office, Nigerians have seen the entire development as an indication that there was no established facility maintenance routine and culture in the Villa.

According to many who spoke to our correspondent on the matter, if there had been a maintenance structure, there could have been no chance for rodents to takeover a whole number one office in the country.
