A strong indication has emerged that all is set for the Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo to assent to the 2017 Appropriation Bill into law possibly before or during this week’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday. National Assembly had passed the N7.441tn budget after its harmonization by both chambers.
It would be recalled that the document had been transmitted to the presidency since May 19th after the passage by both Chambers of the national Assembly.
Dropping the hint weekend, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, on Friday said that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo would sign the 2017 budget into law “early next week.”
Though his details were sketchy in terms of the specific date when the budget signing would take place, a dependable source at the Presidential Villa confided in Business Hilights on Sunday that “We do not think that assenting to the budget may last till midweek”.
