LCCI plans commerce and industry awards for business excellence, governance

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has concluded plans to honour resilient business organizations who have survived and maintained steady growth even in a recessionary economy very soon.

Explaining more on the upcoming event which was recently unveiled, President of the chamber, Dr. Nike Akande said the chamber decided to recognise and celebrate deserving corporate organisations that have significant contributions to the advancement of the Nigerian economy.

Coming with the theme; ‘Lagos at 50: Celebrating the heartbeat of commerce in sub-Saharan Africa’, Akande disclosed that the yearly event is celebrating excellence, best practices in corporate governance, value-addition, backward integration, innovations, achievements, high standards of business and professional ethics.

She said “As Lagos State clocks 50 this year, the Commerce and Industry Award represents an appropriate platform for celebrating the achievements of outstanding corporate organisations and personalities who have kept the spirit of commerce and industry alive, not only in the state, but internationally”.

“The objective of the yearly Commerce and Industry Award is to recognize, promote and celebrate private and public institutions operating in Nigeria for best business practices, growth through innovations, business sustainability and positive impact on the people and society.
