Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson (right) with former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori during a condolence visit to the government and people of Bayelsa over the death of Chief D.S.P Alamieyeseigha in Yenagoa on Wednesday, 05/04/17.
The host, Governor Seriake Dickson said the former governor of Delta State, James Ibori and the late D.S.P Alamieyeseigha were victims of the struggle in the Niger Delta.
The governor said this while receiving Ibori at the Government House in Yenagoa, and claimed that the two former governors mobilised the people of the Niger Delta for resource control, fiscal federalism and other issues affecting the region.
He said “Both of you are victims of the Niger Delta struggle. You brought our people together to ensure fiscal federalism, resource control and other issues. You did very well”.
History shows that both strongmen of Niger Delta; Ibori and Alamieyeseigha had issues concerning London in common.
One of the key reasons adduced by political watchers in the Niger Delta that compelled Ibori to be avoiding contact with former President Goodluck Jonathan is that he seems to have a hand in his London travails.
