Legal crossfire between the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Dr. Segun Abraham and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Though the incumbent governor was declared winner in the September 3, 2016 governorship primary, which was supervised by Jigawa State Governor, Abubakar Badaru, Abraham is challenging the emergence of Akeredolu as the APC flag bearer for the 2016 governorship poll and urging the court to declare him winner of the primary.

Already notice was served on concerned parties by the court presided over by Justice Nnamdi Dimgba in Abuja over the commencement of the suit followed the verdict of the Supreme Court that Akeredolu’s appeal which ruled that the suit cannot be stopped from being heard at the High Court.

Abraham had approached the court to be declared the winner of the APC primary and subsequently sworn in to replace Akeredolu as governor.

Analysts who have been following Ondo State politics blamed the party for not being able to manage the crisis since after the elections in 2016, saying there are chances that what happened to Celestine Omehia which miraculously gave way for Rotimi Amaechi to become governor of the state may happen in Ondo State if care is not taken and on time.
