Geometric rise in e-Fraud forced E-PPAN to host summit— Regha

The Executive Secretary of E-Payment Providers Association of Nigeria (E-PPAN), Mrs. Onajite Regha has disclosed that her group was pushed to host the recent Payment System & Fraud Conference 2016 due to the growing volume of risk of electronic payments fraud in Nigeria.

She said in so far many Nigerians have chosen the option of driving their transactions via e-option, there is need to regularly acquaint Nigerians on the inherent danger of carelessness in using cards.

She said “The annual payment system and conference is designed to be a veritable rallying ground, for all stakeholders in the electronic payment value chain to deliberate on payment system and fraud knowledge”.

While believing that the conference, attended by senior level executives across industries is a veritable opportunity for stakeholders to brainstorm on the latest trends in technological innovations in electronic payment, she noted that the objectives of this year’s conference include addressing the challenges posed by people’s laxity in divulging and compromising organization information system to fraudsters.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘E-Payment Fraud: people, Process and Technology,’ and at the end, operators and card users were drilled on the best ways to protect cards and devices against cyber criminals.
