Minister of Works, Housing and Power, Babatunde Fashola inspecting Apapa-Marine Bridge ahead of closure for one month repairs.
The Apapa-bound carriageway of the Apapa Marine Beach Bridge will be closed from today for 29 days in its ongoing rehabilitation, the site manager, Mr. Simon Barakat, has said.
Barakat, who spoke Thursday, appealed to road users to be patient and use alternative routes. “We will close the Apapa-bound carriageway on Friday evening, and it will remain closed till May 8.
“We appeal to road users to slow down in this area and be more careful to use the diversions and respect traffic signs to check gridlock. Truck owners should avoid breakdowns within this period by maintaining their vehicles regularly,” he said.
Followers of roads and bridge failures in Nigeria are beginning to feel that Fashola always ‘rush’ roads or bridge emergencies in Lagos State more than other states across the federation.
