The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman has made a passionate appeal to all staff of the agency to take seriously issues of body exercise during their leisure as well as eat foods that will boost immunity and enhance healthy living.
The advice was given to the staff Wednesday during the launch of the “2017 Work and Wellness” programme organised by the Health, Safety and Environment (NSE) Division of the agency.
Themed ‘Eat right and keep fit for enhanced productivity’, the General Manager, HSE, Mohammed Yusuf who ushered in the managing director to the event, explained that the programme is intended to remind NPA staff of the importance of good nutrition, other healthy habits, and physical exercise.
In his remarks, the Executive Director, Marine and Operations, Davies Sekonte hinted the staff that the management did not hesitate to approve the programme in view of the benefit accruable to the workforce by way of improved productivity.
He said given available resources, the event may become a yearly occasion to grow the crusade of keeping fit at all times.
