All is set for the regime of cashless policy transaction across airports in the country owned by the Federal Government from Monday, May 14, 2018.

The General Manager, Corporate Communications, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, who confirmed the development, averred that the directive is part of new measures to deepen promotion of Efficiency and Transparency in the Business Environment (Executive Order O1), which was issued almost six months ago.

According to her, “all government revenue payments at all airports across Nigeria would now be made electronically effective May 14, 2018”.

She noted that the policy applies to government revenue and exempts access gates, food courts, shops and other non-governmental (private) businesses operating at the airports.

To ensure the seamless implementation of the policy, Mrs. Yakubu averred that the authority had deployed Point of Sales (POS) machines to payment points across the airport and official arrangements for direct transfers.

FAAN said “We look forward to enabling seamless travel airport processes for all passengers at Nigerian airports. Thank you for your support as we promote efficiency and transparency in Nigeria”.
