C’River orders two aircrafts, oil tanker vessel, fishing trawler to boost investment

To drive his latest investment dream of floating State air and shipping lines, the Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade, may have placed orders for two aircrafts, fishing trawler and oil tanker vessel.
Business Hilights Bureau Chief in South-South reports that all necessary documentations and logistics for easy take off of the three schemes are on ground and the entire plans are part of Cross River state industrialisation drive.
The successful core investors who are to drive the new investment schemes are expected to present their financial bids for the proper procurement exercise tomorrow, August 15 in Calabar.
It was gathered that some of the firms that participated in the presentation for Cally Air include Catalyst Gold Innovations, Glory Airlines, Travel Essentials, Manyata Engineering, Dana Airlines and Tropic Aviation.
Others who made presentations for the procurement of vessels and fishing trawlers are Lumberg Services Limited, Strickland Services, Travel Essentials and Obyke System Consults.
Explaining the idea of the investment, Professor Ayade was optimistic that the business plan for the procurement of at least two aircraft, an oil tanker vessel, and a fishing trawler would go a long way in meeting the investment needs of the state.
The decision to go for the trio came after the state executive council observed series of presentations for consideration as transaction advisors by some companies for the procurement of the aircraft and vessels for the proposed Cally Air and Shipping lines respectively.
The governor said “We are going to have a referendum on this project; we are going to throw it back to the people of Cross River to make the final decision.”
Business Hilights gathered that having been pleased with the viability of the projects as expressed by the companies in their presentations, the government adopted five out of the 10 companies for a successful technical evaluation.
“The intention of running an airline was not only focused on making money, but the underlining philosophy is to drive traffic to Calabar and to boost the economy and tourism potentials of the state,” Governor Ayade noted.
