Confusion as ‘patching of potholes’ lead in FG’s listed projects nationwide
Analysts had been finding to hard decode the differences between road reconstruction and ‘patching of potholes, pavement strengthening, repairs of failed sections and general maintenance works’ on a particular road.
Many observers, who had read through the federal Government’s recent publication of ongoing/completed projects across 36 states and Abuja, said they are more confused by the government’s choice of words especially on road works it has embarked on.
Several respondents also observed that federal government may have deliberately mixed the projects to make it difficult for people to differentiate completed and ongoing projects.
Whereas some groups say they are more confused as to the real meaning of patching of potholes, pavement strengthening, repairs of failed sections and general maintenance works on a particular road, others say saying that a road is being reconstructed is better understood in this circumstance.
The federal government seems to have hurriedly catalogued projects it has been working on since inception in 2015 as a way of responding to a recent 14 posers raised by the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCO).
Trouble started when APCO accused President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC), of abandoning their duties to hurling insults at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku Organisation further charged the government and the APC to name one project started and completed by Buhari administration.
As a way of response, the presidency listed all the ongoing/completed projects done by President Buhari across all the 36 states in the country but failed to clearly differentiate between ongoing and completed in the list after all.
