Cleric calls on Bank of Ghana to investigate spiritualists multiplying local currencies
Considering the observed unprecedented show of money multiplication powers on several TV stations in Ghana by some spiritualists, a leading cleric and Chairperson of the Upper Presbytery, Reverend Emmanuel Atami has raised alarm calling on the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to find out the real source of the money on display.
According to her, there is need to find out the origin of the money as many of the beneficiaries keep giving testimonies of how successful they were using the money.
She averred that “It is the firm belief of the Presbytery that all members of our society must diligently commit themselves to whatever noble pursuit that their hands find to do for the Almighty God to bless their exploits and handiwork”.
Ghana News Agency (GNA) quoted the cleric as saying that “The “get rich quick’ syndrome has no foundation in the word of God as well as in nation building, the Church said at the end of its seventh session held at Navrongo.
Reverend Atami stressed that besides the legally acceptable money creation system overseen by the BoG, the constitution does not mandate anybody or an institution to create any legal tender either by magic or any other unconstitutional means. Analysts say such money can be seen as money laundering.
