President of Auto Spare parts & Machinery Dealers’ Association (ASPMDA), Chief Daniel Offorkansi, has revealed that newly registered 2016 Constitution (As amended) will open up the plaza for more foreign and indigenous investments especially in local manufacturing of spare parts.

Previous administrations in the trading group had been making failed attempts to come up with new constitution, but the present government under Chief Offorkansi achieved the feat alongside other remarkable infrastructural facilities in the massive complex. Some of these achievements include building of ultra modern Hospital, free Mass Transit Buses from the trade fair Junction to the ASPMDA main date every morning and evenings, new waste management policy, reconstruction of security posts, construction of free urinary points, opening up of empty plots for plaza developments and other.

Business Hilights recalls that ASPMDA remains the largest auto spare parts trading group in sub-Saharan Africa at the Lagos International trade fair complex, Badagry Expressway.

Speaking shortly after a Thanksgiving Service held at Archangels Parish, Satellite Town, Lagos, he noted that “The Constitution has been registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Abuja which means it has become our new law superseding the 1986 Constitution.

“The law will among of other things, encourage influx of new investors into the market and open up existing businesses as for growth as law and order tailored to deepen investments in a serene business environment has come”.

He therefore called on members and stakeholders to abide by the provisions of the constitution so as to grow and expand the services of ‘Keeping the Nation Moving’, which is our motto.

Also speaking during the celebration party that followed the Church Thanksgiving, the Vice president, Chief Models Hyginus Ezeamama averred that “With the constitution which had been in effect for some time now, ASPMDA has started witnessing major expansion and general infrastructure development driven by discipline and purpose as all the issues weakening investments have been taken care of in the Constitution”.

According to a former President of ASPMDA and member of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Chief Jossy Egwuatu, “ASPMDA is very happy on the law because if we take our minds back to where we are coming from, members will be begin to observe that the constitution will unlock the potentials of the market for expansion”.

High point of the ASPMDA Constitution celebration party was the award of honours to all members of the Constitution review Committee for their patriotism in coming up with a well accepted law of the largest auto spare parts market in Africa.

It would be recalled that ASPMDA trading space at Lagos International trade fair complex, is currently enjoying a 99 year lease from the Federal Government since 1996.
