The Customs Area Controller of Apapa Customs, Musa Jibrin has opened up on the recent cyber attack on the computer systems of stated that the impact of AP Moller-Maersk systems worldwide, saying “the attack was not felt much by the customs”.
According to him, even though activities have since resumed at the port, the attack temporarily grounded activities at the Apapa port, causing long queues of trucks due to process access to the central system of the terminal.
At a recent press briefing, the Controller disclosed that the command was embarking on joint examination of cargoes by all agencies of government recommended to operate inside the port. He however said that notwithstanding the breakdown at APMT, the process is going on well.
