APCON visits NCC, seeks support on workshop to train MDAs on branding

The leadership of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), has paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) at its Abuja Head Office, to seek support and partnership on its proposed summit planned for next month.
The APCON delegation, led by Mr. Ahmed Yalwa, Head Zonal Operations, North Central APCON and Mr. Chidi Onwumere, summit Consultant to APCON, briefed the NCC of the theme; ‘Branding Approach: A Tool for Enhancing Public Sector Objectives’
In his presentation, Mr. Onwumere, made it clear that “Their mission is to turn around the image of the public sector in Nigeria utilising branding strategies,” stressing that the summit will educate public sector officials on how to rebrand and direct their own narratives & stories, which would consequently enhance their engagements with their various stakeholders.
“APCON has decided to come up with a summit to bring together heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Nigeria (MDAs) at the Yar’Adua Centre on December 11th, 2018, to ensure they engage with professionals who will teach on employing branding as a tool to enhance and further their objectives”.
He commended NCC for engaging continuously with their audiences through their several Consumer Centric Programmes.
Responding, Okoh Aihe, Head of Public Relations, who represented the EVC, welcomed the delegation and commended their effort in organising the forthcoming summit and, appreciated APCON for planning to collaborate with NCC.
NCC assured that it would be happy to tell its story as well as teach and learn from other agencies who had achieved mileages’ in corporate branding.
