Official indication has emerged showing that the management of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has begun recruitment into the service for 2017.

An advertorial placed on its website, and seen by Business Hilights showed that there is a dedicated portal for recruitment into Nigeria Immigration Service 2017.

It would be recalled that midway into last administration, a controversial recruitment process lead to the death of over 30 job seekers while about 70 sustained life injuries which prompted the government of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to announce automatic job placements for those that sustained permanent injuries and one job each from the family of the dead.

It was not however clear if the promises were kept then or whether the present government continued from where last government stopped on the matter.

However, details gathered from the portal read in parts: “General Information on application for successful recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration Service 2017”.

“This is to notify candidates and the General Public that NIS RECRUITMENT is the official Nigerian Immigration Service URL that links to the Recruitment and Enlistment Portal.

The portal also sounded a note of warning to prospective job seekers saying “Any website or portal apart from this portal is considered a SCAM. Any candidate who visits any other website does it at his/her own RISK”.
