Governor Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa State, on Monday pledged to empower more women and youths in the state.

Bindow made the pledge when he received the Adamawa chapter of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) in Government House, Yola.

He urged women to participate in socio-economic activities, adding that their contributions would add more value to the development of the state.

He promised to assist FIDA to complete its secretariat and to support women lawyers to attend an international conference in the Bahamas.

The Governor also, said his administration had brought political stability as well as re-defined governance to the people.

He also noted that the bane of bad governance was insincerity on the part of leaders, adding that he had surmounted that challenge, leading to the construction of 219 kms of roads even against the background of economic recession.

Earlier, Mrs. Halima Abdurlahaman, FIDA Chairperson in the state, commended the governor for his giant strides development in the state.

Abdurlahaman said that the governor’s developmental projects cut across all parts of the state.

She appealed to the governor to assist FIDA to complete its secretariat and to attend the forthcoming FIDA international conference in Bahamas in November.
