Formerly Etisalat Nigeria, now 9Moblie today, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 unveiled its new website, www.9moblie.com.ng.
In a telephone interview with a senior official of the telecoms industry regulator, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the staff who pleaded anonymity said “NCC was aware of the changes, the new site and has given approval ahead of time”.
It would be recalled that Business Hilights had reported last week that the new site will be live as soon as possible in order to sustain public access to activities of the company. From preliminary findings on the site, the renamed group retained its background colour and all contents in previous site.
Some of the few comments coming with new site as at Tuesday’s afternoon include; “life begins @ 9.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company explained that it adopted ‘9Mobile’ as its new trading name, because it represents Nigeria’s heritage and values, stressing that the change in name was a further testament of its commitment to ensuring business continuity as Nigeria’s fourth largest telecoms operator.
Continuing, the Chief Executive Officer, 9Mobile, Boye Olusanya, averred “Our new trading name, 9Mobile, represents our 0809ja heritage, our 9ja-centricity and our evolution over nine years of operation in Nigeria. Although our trading name has changed, we remain true to the same values on which our company was built”.
